For hundreds of years, the Wonderful Highland Bagpipe has been put to use to inspire and to entertain. Regardless of if your roots go back again to the Highlands of Scotland, Southern Indiana Pipes and Drums can assist make your next occasion a memorable event. Southern Indiana Pipes and Drums emerged in 2005, as a band of Merry Pipers and Drummers from the scattered corners of Indiana (and outside of). One of the greatest bagpipe bands in the location, our active membership comes with more than thirty consumers ranging in age from seven to 78 and in practical knowledge from clean novice to levels of competition grade piper. We are a regimental (military style) band that features members from Columbus, Bloomington, North Vernon and Greensburg Indiana – not to mention the token Scottish piper from Glasgow, Scotland. The Band performs at a vast assortment of features and gatherings as very well as individually and as a custom made sized team at private request. Our members have a broad assortment of practical experience and backgrounds and our key interest is to have exciting sharing the tunes of the Terrific Highland Bagpipe between ourselves and with others. The band is open to any person who is genuinely fascinated in studying and participating in bagpipes and drums in a noncompetitive ambiance. We welcome new college students from age seven to infinity, for the Wonderful Highland Bagpipes, Snare, Tenor or Bass drum. College students are taught the fundamentals on a practice chanter or drum pad, and will progress onto the full size instruments as competencies establish. Instruction is presented by pipers and drummers in the band, who have numerous several years of encounter..
