South Indiana Pipes

For decades, the Wonderful Highland Bagpipe has been used to inspire and to entertain. Southern Indiana Pipes and Drums emerged in 2005, as a band of Merry Pipers and Drummers from the scattered corners of Indiana (and beyond). A single of the biggest bagpipe bands in the region, our energetic membership features around thirty individuals ranging in age from seven to 78 and in experience from refreshing novice to competition grade piper. We are a regimental (army model) band that features members from Columbus, Bloomington, North Vernon and Greensburg Indiana – not to point out the token Scottish piper from Glasgow, Scotland. Our members have a vast variety of working experience and backgrounds and our main interest is to have enjoyable sharing the new music of the Superb Highland Bagpipe amongst ourselves and with others. The band is open to any person who is genuinely fascinated in understanding and enjoying bagpipes and drums in a noncompetitive ambiance. We welcome new college students from age seven to infinity, for the Superb Highland Bagpipes, Snare, Tenor or Bass drum. Students are taught the principles on a apply chanter or drum pad, and will progress onto the total size instruments as competencies build.
